In this day and age, you can find a Skills Trainer/Developer on almost any block in the neighborhood. It has gotten to the point that if you have a camera, a basketball, maybe some cones or tennis balls, and someone to workout, you’re now an “elite” skills trainer.
Most of the time, the “fakes” fade out. But from time to time, I run into the gym and see a guy pelting tennis balls at some kid and think, “This guy is literally stealing money from this person…”.
There have been a few guys that I’ve seen in the DMV area that I have really grown to respect for their grind and passion for Skill Development. One is Koran Godwin.

I had the chance to meet Koran Godwin, North Florida’s All Time Leading Scorer, at a coaching clinic a few years back. He does a tremendous job working with high school, college, and pro athletes. He also provides free videos of his workouts on his site and his YouTube Channel – I’m a huge fan of Koran’s because of his passion to help people get better at the game of basketball. His philosophy “Work Until” essentially describes the answer to any question a player might ask. For example, “How long does it take to become an elite shooter?” Work until you become one. “How long do I need to work on my handle?” Work until it is where it needs to be.
